A little about me:
My name is Kate, and I began swimming at the age of 6. I swam competitively my entire life in the state of North Carolina and continued to compete at a Division I level for 4 years of college. I love the sport because you develop a life-long skill and there’s always potential to grow and improve. Swimming is a technical sport, and it always pays to work on the basics. I believe patience and diligence are key.
I’ve taught swim lessons to swimmers of all ages and ranges; and I love the opportunity to introduce individuals to the sport. We begin with survival skills for those who are new to the water, so that there is a level of comfort before progressing to stroke development. For younger children and those more uncomfortable with water, we start slow, ensuring that safety comes first. Furthermore, communication is essential to ensure that we are making the most of our time in the water and our goals are the same. I am Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED trained.
