A little about me:
Competitive swimming was a major part of my childhood; I started USA and YMCA club swimming when I was 10 and then swam competitively in high school as well. I teach swim lessons because teaching is my passion and because everyone deserves to participate in the joy of swimming. I like to focus on integrating that joy and fun into my lessons and I always end with a fun activity! No matter what skill level or age a swimmer is, I believe that together we can find a fun, but challenging way to increase their confidence and skill in the water. Because a student’s safety is always the most important consideration, I make sure that they have mastered survival skills such as bubble blowing before we try to tackle formal strokes. In any situation, I make sure to coordinate with them and their parents so that the process is fulfilling and helpful for everyone! I started lifeguarding as early as one can in New Jersey, at the age of 15. I received my Lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications at that time and have kept them up since then! I also have experience teaching students with special needs.
