I have been swimming for as long as I can remember, from mommy and me classes to now. I joined my first swim team (FSPY) when I was 7 years old and remained on that YMCA team until the end of high school. I attended 5 National competitions during that time and broke a few team records. In addition to swimming at the FSPY, I swam for Plainfield High School where I broke (and still hold), all of their records and held 3 MVP titles. In college, I am captain of the Gettysburg Bullets swim team and hold 4 collegiate records. I have taught lessons for 3 years and still love the challenge of teaching all ages and all skill levels.

It is important to keep the lessons upbeat and fun. Learning to swim is not only a life skill, but it teaches discipline and confidence. It is also important to know that learning how to swim can be frustrating and that children learn in a different ways and at their own speed. I have taught special needs children at my former job and know that all you need to succeed is a little practice, patience, and a positive attitude. If you or your child would like to work on anything specific just let me know so we can make a specialized plan to meet those goals.

I am Lifeguard, CPR and AED certified. I have also completed training at my former swim instructor job at the YMCA. I am confident that my past experience and my upbeat personality will be a great match to help your child reach their full swimming potential.
