A little about me:
My first experience swimming was in middle school. On Saturdays, I would swim recreationally. In high, I began to work for the city of Plainfield as a lifeguard before I started working for the YMCA. There, I taught swim lessons and was also a lifeguard. I would say I have always enjoyed swimming! My swimmers would be likely to notice bubbly personality! Fun is my thing. I love showing my students that I am not only patient, but fun. For younger or even newer students, I love to show them that there is nothing to be afraid of, especially with Ms. Alexus. I am here for you!
I love to welcome new swimmers into the water! I genuinely feel like swimming is a skill I can help teach anyone. Teaching basic swimming skills as opposed to only focusing on the strokes are equally as important from a safety standpoint. A swimmer loves to see progress within themselves, and recognizing that they are able to do something that they could have never thought possible. I have experience with teaching those with special needs as well. I always take into account what my swimmer or their parent would like to learn in the water, and plan my lessons accordingly. I am currently certified in lifeguarding, CPR, AED, & First Aid through the American Red Cross.
