I swam competitively for 7 years in both high school and college, and also joined a Masters swim team while in graduate school. I have always enjoyed being in the water. I am very enthusiastic about sharing my passion with others, which is why I teach swimming. My passion comes through clearly in my lessons.
I believe it is important that every child learns to feel comfortable in the water before learning any of the stroke techniques. I am always eager to work with beginners, and help them achieve that comfort level. Once they reach this point, they can go on to learning the survival strokes, which is a life-saving skill. I am willing to work with kids of all learning styles and discuss with them, as well as their parents, their goals for the lessons .
I am currently CPR-certified and have coached swimming in addition to teaching swim lessons. Students have always described my as very approachable and willing to help. My goal is to continue to help kids learn how to swim and develop a passion for the water!
