A little about me:
Swimming has been my passion since I was about two or three years old. It’s a passion that comes from family generations before me – this passion was especially instilled by my father, who was a member of the national team and founder of the national swimming school in Cuba. My entire childhood and youth were spent developing my skills as a swimmer in different swimming schools. Swimming, for me, can be as simple as walking, so long as the necessary techniques are developed. Teaching others to swim became essential for me. At the age of 18 I obtained my lifeguard title at the national lifeguard school. After that, I had a different outlook on the water. I didn’t just want to swim, I wanted to use my skills to ensure the safety of others.
During my many years as a lifeguard, I learned that the most important skill is to teach how to be safe in the water, so my lessons will always start with water safety first. And the second but no less important thing is fun and enjoyment. Having fun while swimming is the perfect way to relax, learn, and enjoy! I love children, and sometimes I feel that in the water I can become one again and let the joy flow. It is very important for me as a teacher to connect with my student. This way, I will be able to instill in them my passion for swimming. I was a teacher for two years at the national lifeguard school, so my lessons are aimed at survival first, and then move on to the development of skills according to the potential of the learner and their personal desires. There is nothing you can’t learn in the water, and my instruction will help you will achieve your goals. I love teaching so all my lessons will be full of love and dedication for my profession, as well as a lot of fun. No two lessons will be the same as the other, as we are all different and have different needs. I like to change my teaching methods to be sure my instruction is tailored to each learner. My desire is for each student to learn all swimming styles and skills.
Among other studies, I can also highlight that I have a diving license, CPR/AED certifications, and my lifeguarding certification. Join me, we can be a great team!
