A little about me:
I have been a dedicated swimmer for as long as I can remember, a lifelong passion that evolved into a professional career as a lifeguard in 2021 and a swim instructor in 2022. My approach to the water is defined by patience, honesty, and a consistently positive attitude, all aimed at creating a sanctuary where students feel safe, supported, and genuinely excited to learn. With a background in education, I am driven by the joy of teaching what I love, utilizing an adaptive style that focuses on gradual progression, technical precision, and, above all, comfort. I specialize in working with beginners, as I believe providing a strong foundational value is where I can make the most significant impact. I recognize that the water can be intimidating, so I prioritize building a bond of trust to ensure a student’s first experiences are joyful and entirely stress-free.

My philosophy is rooted in the belief that survival skills are the true foundation of water safety. By mastering “water independence”—the ability to float, roll over, and find the wall—a student gains the confidence that their head will stay above water. This shift in mindset, where the student controls the water rather than the water controlling them, drastically reduces anxiety and paves the way for effective formal stroke development. I celebrate every “small win,” from blowing bubbles to the first independent lap, using positive reinforcement and engaging games to keep lessons fun. I am fully committed to meeting every swimmer where they are, tailoring my methods to accommodate individual sensory, physical, or developmental needs. Through clear communication and regular progress assessments, I work closely with parents to ensure our lessons align with their specific goals, whether preparing for a family vacation or a competitive swim team. As an American Red Cross certified Lifeguard Instructor with advanced certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid, I bring a high level of safety and professional expertise to every session.
