A little about me:
Hi, my name is David! I have been a competitive swimmer through high school and college, finishing my competitive swim career at TCNJ in 2020. I’ve coached 3 different swim teams, worked at swim camps, and have spent time teaching private lessons. I think this makes me very well rounded in regards to teaching lessons to students of all abilities! I’ve been in and around the water as long as I can remember, between competitive swimming, a brief stint in water polo, and spending time hanging around the pool and the ocean with family and friends! I’m always up for fun activities, and try to bring as much of that positive energy as possible while conducting lessons. This could be through educational games, swim challenges, or activities mixed into lessons to make them as positive and educational an experience as possible!

In addition to recognizing the importance of water safety, I believe that striving for water comfort is a great goal! I have always loved the freedom that comes from being comfortable enough in the water to bodysurf waves or dive under the surface into a different world! Being able to teach that to others is a privilege. My goal is to help all of my swimmers work towards their goals, and within their range of abilities. In beginner swimmers, I would first emphasize safety through water comfort and simple maneuvering. As swimmers advance, we would start to focus more on technique, efficiency, and varied swimming stroke development.

I currently hold certifications in first aid, CPR, and lifeguarding. I draw on my experiences as a competitive swimmer, coach, and private instructor to provide the best lessons I can. Let’s swim together soon!
