Whether it was lessons, competitions, or just having fun in my backyard, I’ve been swimming for as long as I can remember. Overall, I have about 3 years of competitive swimming experience, and 16 years total. I started teaching because I wanted to share my enjoyment for swimming, and provide people with a skill they can take with them for the rest of their lives! In my lessons, I always make safety my first priority, and believe that learning new skills and having fun go hand and hand.
I love teaching people of all skill levels, whether you can’t swim at all, or just want help mastering new strokes. I especially love teaching beginners because they have a clean slate to work on, and can improve very quickly with consistent practice. As I already mentioned, I make safety a big priority. It is for this reason that the foundation of my lessons begin with learning “survival strokes” (strokes which will help the client swim safely). After we accomplish this, we can move onto the more formal strokes, such as Backstroke, Freestyle, Breaststroke, and Butterfly. I teach people of all ages as well as those with special needs. I motivate children by not only their improving their technique, but, but boosting their confidence in the pool with each lesson.
I am Certified by the American Red Cross in life-guarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid. At a young age, I myself also received swim lessons for multiple years. Lastly, I’ve gone through the Making Waves Training program, which has helped in preparing me to the best Swim Instructor I can be. I look forward to working with you!
