A little about me:
Hi, my name is Lucas, I’ve been swimming for as long as I can remember receiving formal swimming lessons when I was 7 years old. Fast forward many years and I was proud to receive my lifeguarding certificate from the Red Cross in 2014.
I feel like swimming is a necessary skill that everyone should learn seeing how much people are drawn to bodies of water, such as beaches, lakes, ponds, and pools. Overall I am positive, patient, and optimistic; I know everyone has their own learning pace so I will adapt my lessons and cater them towards my students. I like to start with the basics when I begin my lessons making sure that my student is comfortable with the water. I believe that it is vital to teach beginners survival skills such as floating on their back before we move on to the formal strokes. Because as the Red Cross says it “safety first”, I want my students to learn how to be safe in the water before they move on to complicated strokes. I will motivate my students by pushing them to achieve small goals first and then move on to larger goals, which will lead them to become safe and confident swimmers.
I look forward to be teaching for Making Waves Swim School and having the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and skills in swimming to my students!
