A little about me:
My life has always been surrounded by water… literally! Ever since I was a child I loved swimming and learning about the ocean. After graduating high school, I went to the University of Hawaii to study marine biology. While I was there, I became very acquainted with snorkeling near the beaches. I also became an open water certified SCUBA diver and explored more of Hawaii’s coral reefs as well as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Additionally, I was fortunate enough to travel around the Hawaiian Archipelago for 3 weeks on a 133 ft. sail boat (including Nemo’s family), and have enjoyed every minute in the water.
During my second semester of college, I became a swim instructor and lifeguard, and, since I loved it so much, continued doing it for the past 5 years. I have taught all age groups and skill levels, from beginner to advanced, and have also coached swim teams as well as pre-teams. My goal is to make the water a safe and comfortable environment so that the experience can be enjoyed.
Swimming has opened the door to so many awesome adventures for me. I hope that everyone will have the same experiences, if not better, than I have had in the water.
