A little about me:
Hi! My name is Sharon. I have been swimming since I was 7 years old and swam competitively from ages 9-12. I am patient and understanding, mostly due to growing up with younger siblings! My patience is also due to further experience I had as a camp counselor. I teach swimming because I like to see my students grow and experience the satisfaction of learning a new skill. My teaching style includes using different techniques to master skills and reassuring my swimmers that not every skill is as simple to learn as another and to never get discouraged.
Everyone starts out as a beginner swimmer, and no one should feel discouraged which is why safety in water is prioritized before technique. I motivate my students by reminding them that I was just as scared as they were when I was learning to swim. Learning skills is a step-by-step process. I strive to meet the goals set by their parents but more importantly goals they continuously set for themselves each lesson.
I am currently certified as a Lifeguard with First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. I look forward to swimming with you!
