A little about me:
I have been swimming since 2007 on my local summer team, and then joined a club team where I swam until 2018. I was recruited to my college swim team and received a scholarship. I teach swimming lessons now in hopes that I can help make accessible the opportunities and benefits that were available to me through swimming. I am a very happy-go-lucky person, and my students always notice my friendly nature! I try to make lessons as comfortable and fun as possible.
There is no greater reward for me than the feeling of when a newcomer to the water puts their face in the water or floats for the first time. I have a great amount of experience with teaching special needs individuals, and I prioritize personalizing and catering lessons in order to find a teaching style that works the best for them.
I currently hold certifications in first aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding through the Red Cross. I have undergone high intensity endurance and technique training since 2008 on my club and college swim teams, and because of this, once basic survival skills have been mastered in a lesson, I hope to work on teaching basic strokes and then perfecting them. I major in global studies and also have a Mandarin Chinese minor. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, watching anime, and playing with my cats.
I hope to see you at lessons!
