A little about me:
My very first memory of swimming was at 3 years old. I was fearless with no knowledge yet and taking a leap of faith by jumping into the pool. From thereafter my passion for the water grew. I went to summer camp from 2005-2014 at a local CYO where swim lessons were provided. I went from learning water safety and the basics, to the introduction of strokes. From 2013 to 2017 I joined the swim team at my high school achieving varsity all four years. While in high school I started working as a lifeguard at the YMCA in 2014, becoming a swim instructor shortly after. This is where my passion for swimming turned into sharing that passion with others. I looked up to all my instructors and coaches throughout the years and now I have that gift to give to others. I teach with safety, technique, and endurance in mind but always keep it fun and engaging.
No matter the age, we all have to start somewhere! I take in every beginner sculpting the lesson to fit their goals. I love watching the littles grow with amazement on all the skills they learned and the shock on adult beginners faces once they’ve achieved something they deemed “impossible”. When it comes to swimming and teaching beginners, the main focus is survival skills. These skills are designed to break down fear, install confidence, and prepare for success with formal strokes. I use a creative, playful, and inclusive environment to motivate and encourage my students. Your goals are my goals, and we become a team to achieve them. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
