Since 1998, Making Waves Swim School has been on a mission—a mission to revolutionize the swim lessons industry by providing a safe, conveniently located, quality program, with personalized attention. Unlike most private swimming lessons NJ offers, we don’t put swimming first. We put safety first. As a lifeguard and swim instructor during and after college, our founder Daniel Heller witnessed too many struggling swimmers a stark realization that prompted him to re-think the art of teaching swimming. He also realized that students take longer to learn swimming in a large group setting. The result? Heller created a new model for swim lessons—one that teaches water safety first with private swim instructors on a one-on-one basis.

At Making Waves, we believe a student who feels safe and cared about will be the most successful swimmer. So, our swim school places both child and adult students in a comfortable atmosphere with positive reinforcement. As a result, the student will adopt the skills and self-confidence needed to excel in any environment—in and out of the water. Our carefully selected private swim instructors understand that each student is different, and all learn swimming at their own pace. So, each lesson is created and implemented with this in mind.

Private Swim Lessons Are More Affordable

With our private swimming lessons, NJ has access to one-on-one instruction and semi-private classes, which actually end up saving you money in the long run! The smaller class sizes give children and adults the individualized attention needed to progress much more quickly.
