A little about me:

Hello everyone, my name is Peyton! I started swimming at the age of four and swam competitively until college, where I received a scholarship to swim at the Division 1 level. I swam for fifteen years, and now I have transitioned to the teacher side of the pool. I am a very easy-going, patient, and understanding person, and I enjoy keeping the mood light. I know that learning to swim can be daunting for some, but if done right, I believe it can be a joyful experience. When teaching, I like to know how a student is feeling, and I like to connect with them to make our time more enjoyable.

Being a swim instructor gives me the privilege of watching others begin their journey with the water, and it’s so fulfilling. I hold a deep respect and enthusiasm for beginners that are learning to swim. I believe that prioritizing survival skills before introducing formal strokes, as safety in and around water, is necessary. By mastering these essential skills first, beginners gain the necessary confidence to progress to more advanced techniques in a safe and controlled manner. Motivating children in their swim lessons is a joy, and I always try to emphasize positivity, and encouragement to help them succeed and meet their parents’ goals.

I currently hold my lifeguard and CPR certifications. Over the years I have received them from the American Red Cross and the American Lifeguard Association. I look forward to meeting you all and swimming with you!
