A little about me:
Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a deep love for the water. Teaching swimming allows me to combine this passion with my desire to help others. Seeing my students progress from being unsure in the water to becoming confident swimmers is incredibly rewarding. Each lesson is an opportunity to make a positive impact, and that’s what motivates me every day. I have been swimming recreationally since childhood, including a brief period of taking swimming lessons of my own. This has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the benefits of physical activity and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Beyond my professional endeavors, I am known for my kind, gentle, and fair approach to both life and work. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion, creating a nurturing environment where students feel valued and supported. This approach has helped me build strong, positive relationships with my students and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and mutual respect.
Each student is unique, so I tailor my instruction to meet their individual needs and goals, ensuring steady and personalized progress. I know this as I am also a dedicated professional educator and teach special education science in a public school. My journey in the educational field has been marked by a passion for fostering a love of both learning and teaching, helping students achieve their full potential. Over the years, I have honed my skills in creating engaging lesson plans, effectively managing classrooms, collaborating with families, and utilizing innovative teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs. For example, I use toys with younger students. Play isn’t just about having fun; it’s a critical aspect of childhood development that supports cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
My dual dedication to education and swimming reflects my commitment to personal growth and a holistic approach to life. Whether in the classroom or in the pool, I strive to inspire those around me to pursue excellence and enjoy the journey of continuous learning and self-improvement.
I am currently certified in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. Additionally, I am a Dual-Certified Teacher of K-12 Biology and TOSD (Teacher of Students with Disabilities). I can’t wait to make a splash with your family!
